A Godly Marriage What comes to mind when you think about marriage? For some people marriage brings images of joy, companionship and the beautiful union of two people who have chosen each other for life. For others the word triggers thoughts of struggle, disappointment or the painful gap between the marriage they hoped for and the reality they are living. GOD'S LOVE FOR US

God's Love For Us Of all the truths that the Bible reveals about God, His power, His holiness, His justice, His wisdom, His sovereignty, there is one that stands above all others as the defining characteristic of everything He does and everything He is. It is not His power, though His power is infinite and beyond comprehension. It is not His holiness, though His holiness is absolute and perfect. It is not even His justice, though His justice is completely reliable and without partiality. The defining characteristic of God, the one that makes sense of everything else about Him, is His love. 1 John 4:8 does not simply say that God loves. It says something far more radical, "God is love." Not that love is one of God's attributes alongside others. Not that God expresses love on certain occasions when people are deserving of it.
